6 Lesser-Known Things to Do in Kuala Lumpur that You Definitely Have to Try

Before you go to Kuala Lumpur, a good traveler would have to create their own travel itinerary first. So, you go to Google and search for the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur. Most of the things that you can find are highly commercialized, like shopping at the Pavilion, eating at Jalan Alor, finding Escort Girls, and so much more.

Well, I am here to tell you that there are a lot of different things that you can do in Malaysia’s capital city that most people do not know about.

If you are interested to try different things while you’re in Kuala Lumpur, then read on to find out what they are.

Bring Your Friends at the Heli Lounge

There are certainly many different bars and cafes that you can find in Kuala Lumpur and they are actually quite nice. But, going to such places is just dull and boring, to say the least because they already offer you what you want; a nice and calm place to stay.

But, if you and your buddies want something more adventurous, then you definitely have to try the Heli Lounge Bar.

Located on the 34th floor or the rooftop of a building, the name of the place pretty much speaks for itself. You get to sip their signature Lychee Martinis while you’re on a helipad!

Of course, if a martini is not your favorite drink, you can also try their other alcoholic beverages as well.

Find Merchant’s Lane and Eat

Now, you might be thinking about why you have to ‘find’ this place. Well, that is because Merchant’s Lane doesn’t have a signboard that says its name. Instead, you have to ask locals where you can find this café.

Once you find it, you will be greeted with a pretty nice and relaxing place that serves up Eastern and Western-inspired dishes.

This place used to be a brothel back in the day but has now been renovated to become a much better one; serving hot and cold dishes for the weary traveler.

Go Food Hunting in Madras Lane

If going to a café is not your thing, then you can head on over to the Madras Lane Hawker Centre to find other Asian foods that you really like.

Going to this place may be difficult for any traveler, but what I can tell you is that you go to Petaling Street and find a building called ‘Bangunan Pak Peng’. Go inside it and go past the shops and you will exit it to reach Madras Lane.

Look at Amazing Sights at Dataran Merdeka

Although this place is originally intended for the annual Merdeka Parade, the buildings are actually engulfed in some pretty nice lights that you can see during the evening.

Have a Fun Time in Wonderland Park
This 18-million Ringgit Park offers plenty of different attractions. You can look at and interact with rare animals and you can even try out some of their other tourist attractions as well.

Have Dinner in the Sky
If eating traditional dinner is not your thing, then you definitely have to experience eating your favorite meals up high in the sky.

Dinner in the Sky is what its name implies. You will be suspended 45 meters above the ground while you eat a full 3-course menu.
Because of how exhilarating the experience is, you’re going to have to reserve your seat beforehand.
